GRADED GAKKER board Light White
Description
Classic balance board in a new version
The first balance boards with a curved shape occurred already in the second half of the past century. They gained their enthusiasts in the United States where they were manufactured by several small craftsmen, mainly for the needs of the local community. The creators and parents were surprised in how many ways the children could play with such a simple toy. The adults’ limited thinking implied that this is a toy only for balancing on which one should stand with legs apart and rock in one or other direction. However, the children showed that a curved board is something more... The parents appreciated development benefits the play with the balance board gives and the children continued their efforts to discover its next variants of use. Thus the wooden board gained popularity in different corners of the world.
The smallest playground in the world
The small size and endless variants of use in the play make the board a miniature playground - it can be a slide, tunnel, boat, rocker, rocking object for balancing or bridge. The board is limited only by our imagination. It creates conditions to train gross motor skills at home, the toy is also an excellent accessory used in exercises for adults. The play with the board:
- stimulates the vestibular system which is very important for the general development and learning,
- supports the development of proprioception sense - very important sense of self-movement and body position,
- strengthens muscles responsible for a correct posture,
- develops the sense of balance.
Safety
We noted that the parents who see a curved balance board for the first time are accompanied by concerns about pinching of fingers. Our sons experienced themselves painful crushing of little fingers. This inspired us to design an original solution - a cut on a convex side of the board thus GAKKER in the Graded version retains all features and benefits of the classic balance board and minimises the likelihood of painful pinching of fingers at the same time.
The Gakker Graded board model is registered in the European Union Intellectual Property Office under the following numbers 006032009-0001, 006612370-0001 and 006612370-0002.
A toy of the year
The phenomenon of GAKKER boards was appreciated not only by the children. In the most prestigious contest in Poland, authorities in the field of children industry (psychologists, physiotherapists, industry journalists and famous parents as well) selected our boards as the best toy of 2019.
Floor protection
The Gakker boards can be equipped with velvet which protects the floor and in addition cushions and reduces sound. The velvet cover is available in the form of self-adhesive sheets which can be additionally bought and independently applied at any time.
Created in Europe in harmony with nature
GAKKER is a brand created by a small family company and the boards themselves are produced from the beginning to the end in Poland. They are made of beech wood coming from areas covered by responsible forest management; plywood meets rigorous standards of hygiene class E1. For finishing we use preparations based on natural oils with mineral pigments fulfilling the requirements of PN-EN 71-3 (safety of toys). Oiling guarantees natural wood appearance and texture. We do not use varnishes so that the boards are not too slippery and to avoid a "plastic" finishing effect.
